Tuesday, 23 August: We had a blast formally introducing the Batch #003 student pilots to BATS Aviation over the past few weeks through our Induction Programme. We organized an Educational Visit to Air Traffic Control (ATC) – CAAM Ipoh, Airport Fire Rescue Service (AFRS), Ipoh Airport, and Ipoh Meteorological Office (MetIpoh) for our new student pilots. Monday, 15 August: Tough times call for us to be together. BATS Aviation is concerned about staff’s and student pilots’ psychological well-being due to the tragic accident and the loss we suffered. Therefore, a Psychological First Aid Session with the Department of Psychiatric from Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun was organized for all staff and students.

MAS' first SAF-powered passenger flight takes off for Singapore

Powered by sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), Malaysia Airlines flight MH603 to Singapore has successfully taken off from Kuala Lumpur International Airport at noon Sunday (June 5). Malaysia Airlines says it expects domestic aviation to recover by end-2022

The domestic aviation industry is expected to return to the pre-pandemic level by the end of next year. However, the international market will likely take a much longer time to fully recover, said Malaysia Airlines group chief operations officer Ahmad Luqman Mohd Azmi.

Asia Pacific: A Training Opportunity

Aviation will need 27,000 new pilots in 2021 as shortage continues despite downturn.

Despite an industry slump that has seen mass pilot lay-offs, the global civil aviation industry will still require an estimated 27,000 new pilots by the end of 2021, or 264,000 over the coming decade. That forecast comes from Canadian training and simulator provider CAE, which on 9 November released its latest prediction covering the demand and availability of pilots through 2029.
